Sister Sunday: Baby Shower part 1

This week at work, we surprised our boss with a baby shower. She is 8 months pregnant, and although you probably should not surprise woman at that stage of the pregnancy, we did anyways. Everyone brought in food and gifts and we had even prepared a skit for her. My contribution to the feast was cupcakes and cakepops, and today I though I would show you have to make the latter.

Cakepops looks super impressive, but they are really simple to make, because it's basically cake and frosting mixed together. I imagine that cakepops were invented by an angry baker who messed up her decoration and smashed the cake in frustration. Maybe not, but that is basically how you do it.
What you need: Cake, frosting, melted chocolate, lollipop sticks, and
How to make cakepops: Mix any cake with any frosting. Make balls, put them on a lollipop stick and dip in chocolate. Dead simple, but a bit time consuming.
A few tips:
-Between every stage of the process, stick the pops in the freezer for 5-10 minutes. It makes everything a lot easier.
Dip the lollipop stick in chocolate before inserting, this makes it stick better.

I made mine with chocolate cake and chocolate frosting, then dipped them in white chocolate colored yellow and green. I rolled some of the yellow ones in sprinkles.

They turned out pretty good if I dare say so, and no matter how full you are, there is always room for one more petite cakepop. This week at work, we surprised our boss with a baby shower.
