DIY GoldChain Necklace

Today I have had one of those; REALLY? did I really just throw my tooth brush in the toilet because iv had a cold for so long that its the only movement that feels natural days! Yes, I scooped it out of there before I flushed (Yes, first I considered the likelihood of it flushing down if I tried.....). Yes, my nose is red as rudolph.. which is great for the seasonal and festive feel and all.... but no thanks...! And if anyone is wondering YES I tossed the toothbrush!

Now over to something a little more interesting, DIY time!

Oh actually, before that, did you guys have an amazing thanksgiving? Its my fav NorthAmerican holiday (including black friday clearly) and I am pissed yearly that we dont have it here in Norway.

Design Crush: Jonathan Fuller

So, Im back from NYC and as always it has taken me forever to get back to normal. I just landed on friday so I guess Im not on actual forever yet, but still it takes longish for my body to adjust. I manage to get a cold with me back (freaking great..). On the more upbeat note, guess who had a live preview of her new appartement yesterday?? It was so much fun to actually see it, even though there was cardboard covering the flooring and pipes sticking out of the tiles. January definitely issnt far away.

I clearly spent the entire time there decorating (in my head!), and now I am desperately looking for all the key pieces. Every hallway needs a mirror and I feel like mine needs this Jonathan Fuller piece of awesomeness! Sanded glass, ombre color = PERFECTION! (would this be a good DIY??)

Swarovski Bracelet Bling

Hi guys, I am still enjoying a hectic time in NYC! I was walking down the street yesterday and all of a sudden a Rebecca Minkoff pop-up sample sale! Where else does that happen??
(pair that with a PepperMint Mocca latte and THATS what dreams are made off!)

Too keep you entertained while im on the road, check out this super easy DIY!
I think this is the easiest DIY I have dont in forever. What makes it great though is the Swarovski chain, I got mine from Perlehuset, it makes the bracelet look so sparkly and exclusive.

DIY Stack'em Bracelet

This is the perfect project if you have leftover material and you'er like me and HATE to throw it out (its expensive after all right? Im always thinking.. "wait, I might need this for another project"). Well unless you make a project for it, trust me chances are you won't need it. When do you ever need those last 6 links of chain that you cut of when you made that really cool necklace (aka. my Guest post over at College Prepster)? or that scrap part of leather string? Never...... right?
Well actually, you will need it right now!!! These bracelets are so easy to make and look great stacked with other bracelets or just a dozen of them... depending of how much of a hoarder you are.

SeaSalt Caramel Brownies

WOHO; virtual Birthday Cake!! Did I promise this week not to make this blog a birth day card?? Weeeell,  I might have to take that back! November and December seem to hold some of my dearest friends Birthdays. And the people I cannot hug in person I just NEED to smother in love in the virtual atmosphere.

SO this is a virtual Birthday cake to celebrate Ornella! wishing you the best day Love!
This cake actually might rock as much as she does.... Well, that was a Big exaggeration... but the cake is pretty darn awesome!

Its a dark chocolate brownie with salted caramel filling sprinkled with sea salt?
Doesnt that just give you water in your mouth? (if not you are immune to temptation and you need to call me up and tell me the secret!!) Its a few steps to make, but trust me when I say tht its worth it!

I found this amazing receipt at Annie's Eats so pop on over to check it out.

OhLaLa Agate Necklace

When I was little my mum used to take me to different craft stores (mind you NOT because she was especially keen on it…) and I loved every sec of it. My very favorite one was close to her work and I could spend hours in there just planning little projects and looking at all the sparkles.  You know the expression “ like a kid in a candy shop?” well, this was my candy shop (......man I’m corny).
Now I have partnered up with that very Craft store (I know, an OMG, jumping up and down, arms flailing -moment!!). They are letting me go crazy (literally) in their store and use their equipment and beads to make you guys DIY’s! How awesome are these people? The store is called Perlehuset, and is located in Majorstuen in Oslo, BUT let me tell you dear friends, since most of you are not from Norway… how perfect is it that they also have an online store (its in Norwegian, but im sure you all know the language by now :) ... and google translate certainly does, so just click YES in the "do you wish to translate this" pop up (if you use the google browser) ) and a facebook page you can check out.

Agate has been everywhere for the last year, and I am definitely not the first one to feature a tutorial using it. But its just too awesome not to get craft'y with!! So here we go, an Agate necklace:

I will start adding my DIY steps after the jump, hoping it will be easier to follow when I have bigger pictures! Let me know what you think! Do you like it, or should I start making the PhotoShop collages again?

Inspiration: Agate

So I need to start this post my wishing one of my very best friends HAPPY BIRTHDAY. I will not start treating this blog as my personal birthday card, (I hear a relieved sigh from all the readers, haha). But since I wont (buuu) be able to give this amazing girl a B'day hug any time soon (she lives in Toronto) I feel like I need to share a big virtual B'day hug!! Jen, you are amazing and I miss you every day!

kkkkkk, so Im done being sentimental (but not really, cause I miss her so much and we should be sharing birthday ice cream right now) But.... if you havent been living under a rock (pun intended) you will probably have seen a lot of Agate everywhere this summer. Jewelry, homedecor even fridge magnes have all been adorn with this sparkly and colorful stone.
Well, I was thinking of not using it... but who am I kidding? bright pink, sparkly, can be used for jewelry? hold your breath (or actually dont.. I might be sued..) tomorrows project is inspired by this gemstone!

WOHO; Halloween

It’s Monday and Halloween is approaching soon, so off course we need a post to mark this spooky “holiday”. Today’s recipe is for chocolate chip cookies (with a decorative twist off course).  These cookies are one of the best recipes I own (got it from Kat) and we both have been making these for our friends and family for years, so naturally we had to share it with you guys.

Chocolate Chip Cookies:

- 8,8 ounces butter (room temped)
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ½ cup white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 ts baking powder
- 1 ½ vanilla
- 2 cups flour
- 1 ts salt
- 7 ounces chocolate morsels (or nuts, white chocolate, m´ms, fudge)

In a large bowl mix the butter and the sugar (bilde)

Pour in the eggs, then add the dry

Last add the chocolate morsels / chopped chocolate (bilde)

cookie dough ----- yumyum
Use a spoon and place your cookies on a baking sheet

Put them in the owen and bake for approx 10-12 minutes at 356 F (i love mine a Little doughy, so i only bake for 10 mins)

Here is what you will need for the scary part:

Red frosting
Chopped almonds
And mini marshmallows (I could not find any, so i had to improvise)

Start by piping a circle on the cookie

Place the ”marshmallows” on the cookie

Pipe a circle on the other cookie

Place the cookies on top of each other, place the almonds to get the ”fang-effect”

A there you have your scary cookie with a vampire mouth!

If you are not into this scary twist, enjoy in a more traditional way:

 Happy Halloween!!

Flea Marked Saturday!

This morning me and Annette (yes, the lovely Annette that occasionally posts in sister sunday) went to a flea marked, both looking for cool pieces for our appartements.
Ohhh, appartement update: SO I just got the move in date, 8th of January. WoHo!!! Annette is still looking, but I am sure we will see more appartement related DIY's for sister sunday as she is looking for one :)

Anyway, the flea marked was insane. I have never been before so I dont know if they are normally like this, but there was a ton of people and they were going crazy, no joke!
It was a bit intense for my taste, but check out the awesome trunk I got. It will be perfect for... for... for storing... I dont even know for what, all I know is that it looks AWESOME!

Hope you are all having an amazing weekend!
