make it & fake it, J.Crew bag

Today I saw something great over at “the glamourai”. A purse made of raggy sheepskin. 

They have been doing these purses for a while, J.Crew amongst others had some a few seasons back (2010). They are fuzzy, cool and totally rocking. I think DIY’ing one will be a breeze.

You will need: Ikea sheepskin rug (white or gray), metall link chain ex. this, an old cosmetic case or purse (a simple zipper opening on the top of the case would be the easier option), strong glue.

How you cut the rug depends on your cosmetic case, but make sure you cover the whole case.

Glue on your pieces, attach the chain link as handle and tata: your cosmetic case has been reborn as a designer look-a-like purse. To get the raggedy look of Mongolian lamb that the designers use for these bags, spritz the fussy sheep fur with some water and it gets that "dreads" look that Mongolian lamb have naturally.
