Today I was on a rescue mission that almost turned out to be a "Bambi for dinner" mission.
The victim (of the first crime, bad parenting explained here) and the second almost victim the above mentioned Bambi. I was driving my tiny Toyota IQ just big enough for me, my (broken) Nikon and my overly stuffed purse on the road to see the doctor (photo store). All of a sudden a pack of four Bambi's darted out in front and the back of my car with only millimeters clearance.
Puh, heart attack!!! Luckily we all survived but holly, what a scare.
The Nikon got a new organ (aka lens) and Bambi ran of in to a suburban neighborhood where the only dangers were overfed Chihuahuas and chickadees.
On a completely other note, how awesome are these shoes?
Seeing these Louboutin shoes for the first time, I fell in love, I loved the style and just had to have some of my own. But at a whopping $1,095.00 it was a tad over the Feb budget (actually more close to way over the whole 2012 budget!) but still, the style is amazing, so they had to be DIY'ed.
Pretty cool right?
You will need an old pair of shoes (mine are Zara flats from spring 2011), leaf silver, paint brush, painters tape, strong glue (ops, it's hidden in the pic) utility knife, and leaf metal glue. I got my leaf metal and glues from Panduro hobby in Norway, but they have it at any well equipped craft store like ex Michaels.
If your shoes are embellished like mine, or have a shape you're not happy with; just cut it off and shape the shoes to desired look. Tape the desired length, paint with glue (and wait for it to dry a bit). Add the silver (the silver is SUPER thin and it's easy to rip it, so be careful.). Cut along the line of the tape to get a clean line and take the tape off. Wait for it to dry (this takes some time). Paint over the silver with the glue (mine can also be used as a varnish, but read the instruction on your version). Glue the chain to the edge of the silver, and woppi, you're done!
Hope you love my new shoes as much as I do.
