Sister Sunday: Pizza Rolls

Hello Everyone!

My sister has gone away for the weekend, up to the mountains to enjoy the simple life, and with that in mind, I have decided to share a recipe that have made my mornings easier:

The Pizza Roll.
Instead of making sandwiches in the morning to bring to school, I have a couple of these in the freezer. Then I just grab one as I am running out the door (5 min late) and it will have thawed by lunchtime.

What you need:

Bread dough: any type you want, I usually make it whole wheat.
I mixed a cup of water with 1/3 cup of olive oil. Added some salt and yeast and kneaded in flour until a doug formed. Let it rise until double in size before you use a rolling pin to make a square.
Pasta sauce (homemade or from a jar)
Veggies like spinach, mushroom, and bell peppers.
Ground turkey
Cheese

Spread the dough with all the goodness and roll up. (You want to be careful here, if the dough is rolled to thin, it can easily burst open.)

Cut into slices and place on a cookie sheet. Sprinkle with more cheese and oregano. Bake for around 30 min at 375 F.

+ Sis
Enjoy!

  1. ooh what a great idea! at home we used to make these but stop before the cutting into slices stage and keep a roll in the freezer - if ever people came over with little notice (or we found out we had a bring a plate thing that day) we could quickly defrost, slice up and cook! I think we used puff pastry though. I might start using these again, such a good idea for uni!
